October is the month during which most of the top law firms recruit for their traineeship programmes. Maynooth University Department of Law is very pleased to announce that representatives from several of the firms are taking time out of their schedules to visit us on campus in the coming weeks.
Why Attend?
If you are considering applying for a traineeship with any of the firms, attending an information session gives you a flavour of the culture and practice type within that firm. You also have the opportunity to ask any clarification questions you may have regarding the application process. Most of the applications close towards the end of October, therefore, while the beginning of the semester may be a busy week for most of you, it is important that you take note of the times at which the talks are taking place and make the effort to attend.
If you are considering a career as a solicitor, you will need to apply for a training contract. Training contracts with these law firms are highly sought after by top law students and top students of other disciplines across the country, as most of the top law firms pay their trainees as well as covering the cost of training at the Law Society of Ireland. Therefore, it is advisable for you to attend these talks to meet with firm representatives and pose any questions you may have.
