Maynooth University is delighted with its elevation in THE global university rankings for 2020, achieving its highest ever position in this ranking.
Maynooth is now positioned in the top 350 universities in THE rankings, which include almost 1,400 universities from 92 countries.
The evaluation is based on performance indicators designed to capture the full range of university activities, including teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
Prof Philip Nolan, President of Maynooth University, said: “This is a welcome endorsement of the performance and ambition of Maynooth University and shows that our research, teaching and innovative curriculum are excellent by international standards, and recognised as such by our peers.
“While rankings are an imperfect and incomplete measure of an institution’s quality, it is nonetheless gratifying that this year’s result represents the highest position ever achieved by Maynooth University in this ranking.
“We are particularly proud that THE rankings reflect objective strengths in our research metrics, including our citations, a sign of the premier quality of the research conducted by Maynooth’s academics, as well as our international outlook.”
Earlier this year, Maynooth University was named in the THE’s Top 50 Young Universities ranking, a list of the top universities around the world under 50 years old.
