Birdwatching on Campus: Discovering Biodiversity at Dusk
Birdwatching is a delightful activity that combines the thrill of exploration with the peacefulness of nature. It's an excellent way to explore the biodiversity right on our campus, especially during the serene hours of dusk. As the sun begins to set, the campus transforms into an orchestra of birdsong, offering a unique experience for both seasoned birdwatchers and newcomers alike.
The Magic of Dusk: Dusk is a particularly special time for birdwatching. As the day transitions into night, many birds become more active. This is when they call out to each other, either to mark their territory or to communicate with their flock. The fading light creates a perfect backdrop for observing these winged wonders without the distractions of daytime hustle and bustle.
We will be joined by Tom McCormack, Brendan Murphy and Anthony from the BirdWatch Ireland-Kildare branch for an all-time favourite: a wonderful dusk chorus walk on campus!
