Social Justice Week is taking place next week 4th – 8th March across the University, and the School of Law and Criminology are putting on several events. See below for details.
 

Monday 4th March

Join us for a roundtable event with Dr John Morrison Dr Clíodhna Murphy, Dr Charles O'Sullivan and moderated by Professor Claire Hamilton  Organised as part of Maynooth University’s Social Justice Week by the School of Law and Criminology.

Perspectives on the Far-right in Ireland

Join us for a roundtable event where Dr John Morrison, Dr Clíodhna Murphy, Dr Charles O'Sullivan and Professor Claire Hamilton will briefly discuss their perspectives on the emergence of the radical right in Ireland followed by some Questions and Answers.
 
 

Wednesday 6th March

Join us in Maynooth for a workshop on "LGBTQ+ rights in a Global Context: Spotlight on India". This workshop will take place as part of the Gender, Sexuality and Law module offered by the School.   Organised by the School of Law and Criminology in conjunction with the MU Sexualities and Genders Network as part of  Maynooth University’s Social Justice Week.

Organised in collaboration with the Irish Heart Foundation and the Children’s Rights Alliance as part of Maynooth University’s Social Justice Week.

Join us in Maynooth for a free, interactive workshop that will consider the Online Safety Code being prepared by Coimisiún na Meán from a children’s rights perspective. The workshop is aimed at policy advocates, academics, students, and anyone else with an interest in this topic. We will consider strategies for future advocacy, and share information and good practice for work on this important issue. There will be an opportunity for networking afterwards. Join us in Maynooth for a hybrid keynote by Dr Gerard Maguire (Lecturer, Irish Centre for Human Rights and the School of Law and Criminology, Maynooth University) that seeks to delve into the positioning of gender within Indigenous life. Dr Maguire will focus particularly on the pre and post-colonial roles of Two-Spirit peoples and the crisis of murdered and missing Indigenous women and girls (MMIWG) in Canada. This event is organised by the Research Centre in International Justice, School of Law and Criminology, and will take place in person and online. All are welcome!
