After Conferring
Congratulations on officially graduating from Maynooth University! As you embark on your journey toward further studies or employment, you may need some or all of the following documents.
Maynooth University Conferring Office

Degree Parchment
Graduates that attend their conferring ceremony will receive their parchment at the event.
If you do not attend your ceremony:
- Graduates receive their degree parchment via post approximately 3 weeks after the conferring ceremonies take place.
- Parchments are sent to the Home Address which the University has in its records for you.
- If you have moved address, please update it on your student record.
- Your degree parchment is written in Latin.
- You can order a copy of your parchment in Latin or English by downloading the NUI application form. The cost is €50 per parchment.
Diploma Supplement
All graduates of Maynooth University who are awarded a Diploma, Higher/Postgraduate Diploma, Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree and Doctoral Degree may receive a European Diploma Supplement document after graduation.
What is the Diploma Supplement?
The Diploma Supplement is a document issued to graduates of higher education institutions. It provides a description of the nature, level, context, content and status of the studies that were pursued and completed. It contains the following information identifying the holder of the qualification:
- information identifying the qualification
- information on the level of the qualification
- information on the contents and results gained
- information on the function of the qualification
- additional information
- certification of the supplement
- information on the national higher education system
What it is not
The Diploma Supplement does not replace the official Degree Parchment or Transcript of Academic Records issued by Maynooth University. It does not guarantee recognition of the qualification.
What is the purpose of the Diploma Supplement?
The purpose of the Diploma Supplement is to make the degree/diploma qualification more easily understood, especially for employers and institutions outside the issuing country.
How do I receive my Diploma Supplement?
The Diploma Supplement is available to Maynooth University diploma and degree graduates. If you wish to request a Diploma Supplement, please contact the Conferring Office at graduation@mu.ie. Note that the Diploma Supplement can only be issued 6 weeks after the release of results.

Seanad Éireann Registration
All citizens of Ireland who have been conferred with an NUI degree (other than an honorary degree) are eligible to become electors in the NUI constituency but must be registered on the Seanad Register.
A graduate may request a Registration Claim Form at any time from the NUI Office.
