    Biography

    Dr. Edgar Galvan is Lecturer, above the bar, in the Department of Computer Science, Maynooth University. Prior to this, he held multiple senior research positions in University College Dublin, Trinity College Dublin and INRIA Paris-Saclay. 

    He is an expert in the properties of encodings, such as neutrality and locality, in Genetic Programming as well as a pioneer in the study of Semantic- based Genetic Programming. His research interests also include applications to combinatorial optimisation, games and software engineering. 

    Dr. Edgar Galvan has independently ranked as one of the all-time top 1% researchers in Genetic Programming, according to University College London.
