Maynooth University (MU) Scholars at Risk (SAR) Fellowship
This is a fully funded 1-year Research Fellowship being offered under the ‘Excellence in Exile’ pillar of the Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Interculturalism (EDI) Office.
Potential candidates: include researchers at all stages of their research career (excluding doctoral students), from all around the world who are experiencing threats to their life, liberty, or research career, and those who are forced or have been forced to flee because of such threats.
Identification of potential candidates: candidates could emerge ground-up through MU contacts or could be offered to MU via international networks (SAR, IIE-SRF) and require a top-down call to MU departments/institutes to gauge their interest in hosting candidates from particular areas.
A department/institute who wants to propose a potential candidate to host will be required to submit information on the potential Fellow including a credible threat assessment issued by a third party, such as the Scholars at Risk Network (SAR) or the Council for At-Risk Academics (CARA), within the previous 12 months.
The department/institute will be required to identify an Academic Mentor and Office space for the Fellow. The EDI Office will provide an Administrative Mentor to support the Fellow and the department/institute.
