Robotic Manipulation with Mobile Robots
When robots have to interact with their environment, algorithms have to be robust, fast and reliable. This is especially apparent when looking at robotic manipulation, where robots use their grippers to grasp, move and deploy objects in their surroundings. Here at Maynooth University, we are interested in robotic manipulation with mobile robots. Reliable manipulation algorithms could enable mobile robots, like TiaGo, to help in unstructured and dynamic environments, e.g. robotic assistants for individuals with mobility constraints. We work at the intersection of using intelligent, data-driven algorithms in an efficient and reliable manner to form the robotic assistants of tomorrow.
