The Role
We ae flexible regarding remote working and the timetabling of work days but there will be an expectation of some on campus presence.
The Research Promotion Officer is responsible for ensuring that the research dissemination activity of the Department of Sociology is effectively supported and promoted. The officer will work professionally and efficiently, in accordance with Maynooth University policies, systems and guidelines, and in accordance with the culture of the Department of Sociology which supports a diverse range of research and teaching.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the Department, working with and through the Head of Department to liaise with and be supported by the Chair of the Department Research Promotions Committee. They will attend all department staff sub-committee and staff meetings acting as an information conduit for research relevant activities and opportunities.
The Research Promotion Officer will also provide support and assistance regarding the dissemination of research outcomes including support with events, conferences, symposiums, and with marketing research related activities. The Research Promotion Officer will also support the promotion of post-graduate opportunities within the Department of Sociology.
Occasionally the work may involve travel, attending relevant conferences as well as collating/preparing material for research funding calls.
