Maynooth University recently hosted the Vicky Phelan Campaign and Triptych Portrait Tour. This powerful event, organised by Maynooth University in collaboration with the Little Way Cancer Support Centre and Vicky’s family and friends, recounted Vicky’s courageous fight to protect the health of Irish women and helped to continue her legacy of creating awareness and change.

The Triptych Portrait Tour Campaign has being travelling across Ireland since 2021. This was the first time it was exhibited in Co Kildare. This event was open to the public and was an opportunity for the Kildare community to remember Vicky Phelan’s extraordinary work.

The evening featured inspiring speakers and a thought-provoking panel discussion on topics related to Vicky’s campaign and her enduring legacy of raising awareness and advocating for change to improve women’s health outcomes.

Members of Vicky’s campaign group, family and friends were in attendance. These included portrait owner David Brennan, solicitor Cian O’Carroll, men’s health advocate John Wall, members from the 221 Group, Cork-based GP Dr Monica Peres and Clinical Director of Maynooth University Student Health Centre, Dr Robert Scully. Attendees also had an opportunity to view Vicky’s famous portrait at the event which was supported by the Healthy Campus team at Maynooth University.
