World-class research based on a distinctive, interdisciplinary approach to the natural sciences, social sciences, engineering and technology, and the arts and humanities.
The MU International Office is the first point of contact for international students applying for full-degree, Erasmus, Study Abroad, and Summer School programmes, and supports MU students who wish to study abroad.
I received a MSc in Physics (Physical Foundations of Microelectronics) in 1998 from Nicholas Copernicus University, Torun, Poland. In 2003, following postgraduate studies at National University of Ireland Maynooth, I was awarded PhD in Physics, for a study of coherence in electron impact excitation of atomic hydrogen. Since then I have been a member of the Space Terahertz Optics Group at the Department of Experimental Physics, working on the development of development of theoretical (modal methods of analysis) and practical (CAD&A software framework: MODAL) aspects of design and analysis of optical systems at millimetre and sub-millimetre wavelengths. I always had a keen interest in the use of computing at various levels in experimental sciences, from data acquisition through data processing to using computational models of increasing complexity to interpret experimental data. In 2010 I set up the first LabVIEW Academy in Ireland, at NUIM.
