The start of September was an exciting time for the Department of Psychology with a week of graduations and celebrations. On Tuesday the 3rd of September over 200 of our Psychological Studies students graduated with a joint honours BA degree. Then, on Friday 6th both our single honours BA and BSc students received their degrees. The staff of the department would like to congratulate everyone and to let you know that we are extremely proud of your achievements. It is a privilege to be part of your educational journey. As can be seen in the photos below, we were very lucky with the day, which only added to the sense of joy and happiness.
We want to particularly mention and single out our 5 PhD students that also graduated on the same day. Doing a PhD involves a lot of hard work, dedication, effort and time (and even a hint of frustration). Despite the many years, the ups and downs you have achieved the highest award that the university can provide. More than this, you have added to our psychological knowledge that will be used and built upon by future generations. This is a fantastic achievement, and you should be very proud of yourselves. Well done from the department to Dr Mary Cronin, Dr Fiona Flynn Dascalescu, Dr Talent Nyamakope, Dr Conor Thornberry and Dr Holly Wescott. A final well done and thanks is extended to the supervisors: Professor Sean Commins, Professor Deirdre Desmond, Professor Mac MacLachlan, Professor Sinead McGilloway and Dr Catriona O'Toole.
