The PROMOTE project, funded by the Higher Education Authority (HEA) and supported by the Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics, aims to create the world's first digitised network specifically for early-stage female researchers.
PROMOTE's mission is to fix these issues by providing an online platform that shares valuable promotion information and offers networking and support for early-career researchers. The project will run a series of training sessions at four partner universities to provide advice on career progression. Additionally, the network aims to support women in corporate or other fields considering a research career, as well as those facing further challenges to promotion due to differing abilities, socio-economic disadvantages, or other barriers.
The initiative encourages researchers, both male and female, at any career stage, to get involved by following PROMOTE’s social media channels. By building a rich network of expertise and information about promotions, publishing opportunities, and networking events, PROMOTE strives to keep female talent in research where it belongs, ultimately leading to richer work environments and more innovative outcomes.
