ALL Member Ana Maria Sanchez Rodriguez - Research Trip to Lao

ALL Member and MSCA CAROLINE fellow, Ana María Sánchez Rodríguez has returned from a 4-week stay in Lao PDR. Ana Maria is working in research that explores, analyses and promotes community level innovations in Lao PDR that can be scaled and inform policies to enforce the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for persons with disabilities with a particular focus on women and girls with disabilities. This ambitious project is carried out in collaboration with Humanity and Inclusion and Maynooth University and funded by the Irish Research Council and from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant Agreement No 71279.
 
November 23- Disability Mainstreaming Advisory Service (DMAS)- workshop for the USAID OKARD Project organised with World Education and Humanity and Inclusion Lao PDR.
 
December 9- Vientiane Classic Run – International Disability Day Event. The Classic Run for 5 km and 12 km was organised by HI Laos and Disability People’s Organisations and sponsored by Events for Good to commemorate the International Day of The Rights of People with Disabilities. 
 
December 11- DID "Disability Inclusive Development" Working Group 
 
December 12- The Lao Disabled People's Association (LDPA) organised their annual meeting with LDPA’s provincial branches
 

The Sharing of Good Practices/Lessons Learnt Workshop
December 13- The Sharing of Good Practices/Lessons Learnt Workshop. The disability people’s organisations: Quality of Life Association (QLA), the Lao Disabled People's Association (LDPA), The Association for the Autism (AFA) and the Lao  Blind Association (LBA) shared their good practices to improve the life conditions of people with disabilities.
 
December 14-Project Official Closure meeting for the Project Support the Lao Disabled People’s Association to Build Capacity and Promote Gender Equity and Participation for Disabled People in Lao PDR Phase II. The event close the activities of a four-year project funded by the European Union.
