    ALL Institute Member Dr. Emma Smith recently gave an Invited Lecture on Assistive Technology and Human Rights as part of the University of Manitoba’s Illuminate Speaker Series. Dr. Smith described how assistive technology is critical to the realization of human rights for persons with disabilities.     Ideas in ALL: ALL Blog One Year Anniversary

    Today, 3rd December 2021, the ALL Blog: Ideas In ALL, is celebrating our First Anniversary! Once again coinciding with the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2021. To celebrate we have arranged a virtual symposium of various posts commemorating International Day for Persons with Disabilities, across a variety of disciplines. The First Anniversary Symposium is thanks to our wonderful new editorial board - Lea Urzel, Hannah Casey, Matthew McKenna, Managing Editor Anastasia Campbell and our Blog Director Professor Delia Ferri A huge thanks to our contributors who produced fantastic posts and we are so grateful to be able to host such a wonderful collection of posts to mark our Anniversary and the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

    Co-Director of ALL Institute Prof Deirdre Desmond working on the DEPTH Study that has Identified Key Guiding Principles for the Role of Technology in Promoting Inclusive Higher Education

    Prof. Pamela Gallagher (School of Psychology, DCU); Postdoctoral Researcher Dr Klavdija Zorec (School of Psychology, DCU); Trevor Boland (AHEAD); Prof. Deirdre Desmond (Department of Psychology & ALL Institute, Maynooth University); and Anne O’Connor (Disability and Learning Support Service, DCU), are working on The DEPTH Study: Designing for Enhanced Participation through Technology in Higher Education. This project funded by the Irish Research Council, explores the experiences of college students with disabilities and the role of technology in promoting inclusive higher education in Ireland.

    Dr Katriona O'Sullivan ALL members' MU ‘Digital Wealth Project’ awarded close to half a million euro in funding

    The Digital Wealth Project, a collaboration between Maynooth University and Microsoft Education Ireland, has been awarded a Rethink Ireland Education grant of €450,000.The project led by Dr Katriona O’Sullivan, Assisting Living and Learning (ALL) Institute Maynooth University and Microsoft Education Ireland is a school outreach programme which aims to address digital poverty and increase the digital capacity of 135 schools across Ireland.
