Postgraduate Life
Postgraduates students play a very important role in the department as researchers, teaching assistants and also socially.   A wide range of research is carried out from synthesis to bioanalysis and neuroscience. Students obtain their postgraduate degree with the submission of a thesis and oral examination. With some of the projects funding will be provided, however in some cases students obtain their funding by means of a schlorarship/sponsorship or choose to fund themselves.

In addition to carrying out research, students assist with undergraduate laboratories and tutorials. This provides the postgraduates with a chance to improve their skills while providing income to those students who have no funding. Students are also given the opportunity to participate in conferences either through an oral/poster presentation in Ireland and sometimes abroad. Past and present postgraduate students find such conferences a very educational and enjoyable experience and it affords them the opportunity to make valuable contacts with people in their specialised area of work.
