On Tuesday 10 November, Graham Kay, a PhD student attached to the Centre and based in the Department of History, was awarded the inaugural Ken Saro-Wiwa Postgraduate Award. Presented by Saro-Wiwa's daughter Noo, an award-winning writer, the €2,000 award will support Graham's PhD research on the role of Oil in Anglo-German geopolitical competition in the lead-up to the First World War. Graham's work is being undertaken under the supervision of Professor Filipe Meneses De Ribero. Congratulations to graham who will use the award to conduct field research in Germany.
