Ed Vulliamy is a Senior Correspondent with the Guardian/Observer. He reported extensively from Bosnia during the conflict, and has since offered sobering reflections on its aftermath through books such as 'Seasons in Hell: Understanding Bosnia's War' (Vulliamy 1994) and 'The War is Dead, Long Live the War: Bosnia: The Reckoning' (Vulliamy 2013). On 18 December, he spoke at a day-long conference organised by the Maynooth Centre for European and Eurasian Studies to discuss the legacy of the Dayton Accords, which brought an end to the conflict in Bosnia in 1995. The above is a recording of the Q&A session with Vulliamy. In this session, moderated by Peter Murtagh of the Irish Times, Vulliamy presents a damning indictment of the Dayton Accords, arguing that they served to insulate the architects of the war from justice while enabling their enrichment through the institutionalisation of corruption. A reckoning, he argues, has yet to occur.
