Gearóid plays a central role in the leadership of the SFI-funded DecaMap project within the National Centre for Geocomputation.  The DecaMap project is focused on the design and development of a Cloud platform for wildfire and related incident management – the creation of a ‘common operational picture’ for responders. Gearóid has an academic background in Geography and Geographical Information Systems and over 25 years’ experience in industry, applying geospatial technologies in a commercial context across environment, planning and natural resources sectors among others.
