Finding Accommodation
Once you have decided you are coming to Maynooth for your studies, you will immediately need to start looking at accommodation options.
The Accommodation Office provides information about various accommodation options both on-campus and off-campus through the home finder service. Please read all of this information carefully.
You may also wish to consider living with a host family. You can find further details of this option in the section below.
We are delighted to now also offer International Students the option of staying with a host family in Maynooth or the greater Dublin area. Staying with a host family is ideal for overseas students who wish to have a full cultural experience. Host families provide students with a safe, happy and comfortable home away from home. The hosts are selected for their friendliness and the standard of their home. All hosts receive a personal visit from an 'Accommodation Assessor' to ensure standards are maintained. Host families may be in Maynooth or along train/bus routes towards Dublin usually within a maximum of 30 minutes.
The host will provide accommodation and half-board meals during the week and three meals at the weekend. Rooms will be cleaned, with bed linen and towels changed at least once a week. The student will be provided with his/her own house key and the host is there to offer advice, as well as to take an interest in the students well-being. The students' requirements will be matched as closely as possible with a suitable host and the student can be relocated if any problems arise.
Our partner in providing this option is International Student Accommodation (ISA). Students can choose to live with a host family for one semester or one year. ISA also have a range of one-semester or one-year apartments for rent in Dublin which are particularly suited to international students.
