On Thursday 10 November 2016, 21 years following the execution of Ken Saro-Wiwa on 10 November 1995, Maynooth University Library hosted a lunchtime programme Remembering Ken Saro-Wiwa.
The sadness of the unnecessary death of Ken Saro-Wiwa and his eight colleagues (the Ogoni Nine) was heightened this year, with the recent sudden death of Ken Wiwa Jr.  Sister Majella McCarron (OLA), spoke movingly of the relationship between father and son and conveyed the condolences of all present to the Wiwa family.  Other speakers included Graham Kay, Dr Laurence Cox, Samuel Udogbo, Dr Anne O’Brien and Helen Fallon.
