Campus Traffic Management Policy
The objective of the Campus Traffic Management Policy is to ensure that traffic management and parking by campus users is regulated in a safe and legal manner, for the benefit of the full campus community. Measures include a clear prohibition of illegal and dangerous parking, the introduction of permit parking for designated spaces, and the use of pay and display to encourage shorter parking stays. The provision of additional parking spaces will be provided where possible.
These measures have been implemented in tandem with the Mobility and Sustainable Travel action plans designed to encourage the use of more sustainable methods of access to our campus by the campus community. Campus Traffic Management considers the issue of paid parking to be one of proper traffic management on campus rather than one of revenue generation. It is confirmed therefore that revenues that accrue from these initiatives will be used to further improve traffic and travel facilities on campus.
