Disputes involving An Garda Síochána and the ASTI teachers’ union

As disputes involving An Garda Síochána and the ASTI teachers’ union continued, Professor Doherty offered analysis and opinion in early November on the Today with Seán O’ Rourke, on Morning Ireland, on Newstalk Breakfast, and on Drivetime.  
 
Prof Doherty participated in a panel discussion on Saturday with Claire Byrne on RTÉ radio 1 on Nov 5th, which dealt with the broader issues related to public sector pay (http://www.rte.ie/radio1/saturday-with-claire-byrne/programmes/2016/1105/829406-saturday-with-claire-byrne-saturday-5-november-2016/?clipid=2324318#2324318).
 
Professor Doherty researches in the area of industrial relations law and policy and has commented and published widely on Irish and European collective bargaining, including his piece ‘New Morning? Irish Labour Law Post-Austerity’, which appears in the Dublin University Law Journal (2016) 39(1).
 
Professor Doherty is Head of Maynooth University Department of Law and lectures courses to all first year law students on Introduction to Law and Employment Law to BCL/ LLB students.
