The Collingwood Cup is 100 years old this year. Maynooth University has never managed to put its name on the trophy, but with the development of the Maynooth University Soccer Scholarship programme under Maynooth University FAI Facilitator, Barry Prenderville, in partnership with St. Patrick's Athletic Football Club, it will enter as a serious contender.
Maynooth University will meet hosts UCD in the first round on 25th March 2014. As Collingwood donated the Cup as a Professor in UCD, no doubt the hosts will bring everything it has to the tournament, especially following it's defeat at the hands of Maynooth University in this years CUFL league.
