With public sector pay disputes ongoing, involving teachers and Gardaí, Professor Michael Doherty recently contributed to various media outlets.
He appeared on RTÉ’s The Week in Politics on Sunday, 23 October 2016 and also featured in that evening’s Six-One News. He also appeared on the Newstalk Breakfast show on 21 and 26 October 2016.
Professor Doherty researches in the area of industrial relations law and policy and has commented and published widely on Irish and European collective bargaining, including his piece ‘New Morning? Irish Labour Law Post-Austerity’, which appears in the Dublin University Law Journal (2016) 39(1).
Professor Doherty is Head of Maynooth University Department of Law and lectures courses on Employment Law and Work & Employment in Europe on the LLB, as well as lecturing on the MA in Sociology (Work, Labour Markets and Employment) at Maynooth University.
