Permit Information

Permit Parking is a key element in the Campus Traffic Management and Parking policy. This measure is to ensure that all parking spaces on campus are used only by approved campus users, thereby eliminating parking of non-campus vehicles on our campus. Permits do not guarantee the holder that a parking space will be available, but they ensure that the parking capacity is available for permit holders.

Permits will not be required for Motor Bikes and Mopeds.
Motor bikes and mopeds are not permitted to park in the general parking spaces on campus and must park in the dedicated area in car park 2 or the covered cycle shelter located to the side of the Eolas Building.

Eligibility for Permits

Permits will be available to the following categories of campus users:

Staff:
All staff on permanent and temporary contracts, and occasional staff. Valid staff ID numbers will be required to apply on-line.
SPCM staff should see their department regarding the parking code required to apply for a parking permit. This code should be entered in the staff ID section on the application page.

Students:
All students who need to be on campus during the core hours of 08:30 to 17:00hrs Monday – Friday will be eligible to apply for permits. Proof of Registration and evidence of insured interest in the vehicle being registered may be required to obtain a permit.
A student who no longer requires a parking permit after semester 1 may return their permit and seek a reimbursement of €20. The permit must be returned, together with the Single Semester Student Reimbursement form to the Traffic Management Office at the end of semester 1.

Staff and Students may only apply for one permit. Up to two vehicle registration numbers may be registered per permit but only one vehicle is permitted to park on campus at any given time.
Once an application has been validated, details on how the permit may be obtained will be communicated by e mail to each applicant.

A number of spaces will be marked for use by drivers who have a blue Disabled Permit. Such permit holders will not require a separate campus parking permit to park in these areas.
