Open Access Resources
Open access (OA) refers to unrestricted online access to articles published in scholarly journals, and also increasingly to book chapters or monographs.
Maynooth University Policy on Open Access to Research
Maynooth University policy is that for all research and scholarly publications, which arise in whole or in part from research carried out at the University, and subject to the copyright and archiving policies of the publisher, the publication contents should be made available at the earliest possible date through the Maynooth University Open Access Repository. The Maynooth University policy has taken effect from 6 November, 2017 and will be reviewed no later than May 2022.
RIAN is the outcome of a sectoral higher education project supported by the Irish Government's 'Strategic Innovation Fund'. Project planning was carried out by the seven Irish university libraries, DCU, NUIG, Maynooth University, TCD, UCC, UCD, UL and was supported by the Irish Universities Association (IUA).

Open Access Library is an academic search engine and publisher. You can download research papers for free and submit your paper to it. It is a shared academic database. It is a handy tool which helps researchers performing their research and helps students with their studies.
OpenAIRE aims to support the implementation of Open Access in Europe. It provides the means to promote and realise the widespread adoption of the Open Access Policy, as set out by the ERC Scientific Council Guidelines for Open Access and the Open Access pilot launched by the European Commission.
Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH)
The Open Archives Initiative develops and promotes interoperability standards that aim to facilitate the efficient dissemination of content. The Open Archives Initiative has its roots in an effort to enhance access to e-print archives as a means of increasing the availability of scholarly communication.
OpenDOAR is an authoritative directory of academic open access repositories. OpenDOAR lets you search for repositories or search repository contents. To date OpenDoar includes over 2,000 repositories.
