Doireann Ní Ghríofa – ‘Chasing the Ghost in My Throat’

Doireann Ní Ghriofa is a poet and writer. She published six books of poetry, in Irish and in English, and most recently is author of the critically acclaimed The Ghost in My Throat’. Her awards include the Lannan Literary Fellowship (USA), the Ostana Prize (Italy), a Seamus Heaney Fellowship (Queen’s University), the Hartnett Poetry Award, and the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature. In this Dean’s Lecture she will discuss her new book and her pursuit of the legacies of Eibhlín Dubh Ní Chonaill. The lecture, and questions and answers, will be hosted by Dr Elizabeth Boyle of the Department of Early Irish, Maynooth University.
