We are delighted to announce the winners of the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, which took place this morning in Renehan Hall. The event saw a group of talented postgraduate students showcase their research in front of a panel of judges comprising members of academia and senior management.

Each participant adhered to the strict rules of the University of Queensland's 3MT competition, presenting their research with the aid of just one static slide and speaking for three minutes. This unique format is designed to challenge researchers to engage a diverse audience and communicate their complex ideas clearly and concisely.

The Winners:

1st place: Oluwayomi Akinfenwa, Hamilton Institute
Presentation Title: Visualisations for Exploratory Modelling Analysis

2nd place: Aoife Flood, Hamilton Institute / Physics Department
Presentation Title: Measurement of the Polarization of the Cosmic Microwave Background with the QUBIC Telescope

3rd place: Shauna O’Shea, Biology Department
Presentation Title: A Spoonful of Sugar… Helps AMR go Down?! (Maybe)

Congratulations to all the entrants who thrilled us with their engaging and insightful presentations. We are proud of the remarkable talent on display and wish the winners and participants continued success in their research journeys.
