Dr Kolawole J. Adebayo

Education
Kolawole holds dual PhD degrees in Law, Science and Technology from the University of Bologna and Computer Science from the University of Luxembourg. Previously, he completed BSc and MSc degrees in Computer Science from the University of Ilorin and University of Ibadan, Nigeria, respectively. He was a recipient of the prestigious Erasmus Mundus and Marie-Curie Fellowships.
 
Teaching
Kolawole has taught internationally at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has also (co)-supervised undergraduate, master's, and doctoral research projects. He completed a postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education at University College Cork, Ireland. He holds a national badge for Universal Design for Learning (UDL) issued by the National Forum for Teaching and Learning (Ireland) and he is a Fellow of the AdvanceHE Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
 
Kolawole has experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and has applied these technologies to fields such as Law, Human Resources, and more. His research interests include low-resource NLP, multimodal AI, AI ethics and bias, and the development of advanced language models. He has experience in academia and industry, has published his research in different venues, and actively contributes to the academic community as a PC/reviewer. Before joining Maynooth as an Assistant Professor, he worked at Dublin City University as a Marie-Curie Research Fellow and at ADAPT as a Senior Research Fellow. He is a member of IEEE, ACM, and ACL
