Dr. Ken Ganga of the AstroParticle and Cosmology Laboratory (APC) in Paris, France will give a seminar on "New Results from the Planck Satellite". The Planck Satellite is a space observatory operated by the European Space Agency (ESA), and observes anisotropies of the cosmic microwave background (CMB). Researchers at Maynooth University have developed optics for the Planck Satellite (see Terahertz Space Optics Group and CMB Astronomy).
