On 14 June 2024, Dr Amina Adanan presented the paper, ‘Allies, Enemies and the Legitimacy of Violence: The Scope and Application of Contemporary Universal Jurisdiction’ at the ‘Joined Up Justice’ conference in the University of Tilburg. The paper explored the development of universal jurisdiction in historical and contemporary times, through the lens of post-colonial and Third World Approaches to International.
The conference brought together academics and practitioners to discuss ‘The ICC as Justice Hub, Pragmatic Complementarity and Domestic ICL Enforcement’ and took place in the University of Tilburg 13-14 June 2024. The conference was part of the ERC funded project led by Prof Elies van Sliedregt, entitled ‘Joined Up Justice’. For more information on the conference, please see here.
Dr Amina Adanan is Lecturer/ Assistant Professor in Law in the School of Law and Criminology in Maynooth University, where she teaches International Criminal Law on the LL.M programmes.
