Calling for Expressions of Interest-Submissions for the SFI Certification Pilot Program
Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) has launched a program for widespread rollout of My Green Lab Certification across all eligible, SFI-funded labs.
Our partner Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) is committed to funding impactful research and promoting sustainability. As part of their Climate Action Strategy 2024-2027, SFI is dedicated to supporting climate action and sustainable practices. To further these goals, SFI has partnered with My Green Lab to develop a pilot Sustainable Laboratory Certification Program, covering the cost of up to 100 labs led by SFI Principal Investigators (PIs) and Funded Investigators (FIs).
The pilot Certification Program will be split into two tranches consisting of approximately 50 labs each. The first tranche of labs will start the certification process in mid-November 2023. Typically, labs are certified within 6–9 months of starting the process. It is anticipated that the second tranche will start its certification journey in Q1 2024.
We extend a warm invitation to our community of My Green Lab community members based in Ireland to join hands with us in this endeavour toward fostering sustainability in laboratories throughout the country.

EoI deadline (first tranche): November 7, 2023 at 1 PM
EoI deadline (second tranche): January 31, 2024 at 1 PM
Notification to applicants: mid-November 2023 (Tranche 1), February 2024 (Tranche 2)
