"The MSc Strategy and Innovation has really opened up the door for me with regards to broadening my career path. There was a wonderful array of projects in modules such as Innovation, Digital Business, Strategic Management and more career skills focussed ones in Career and Professional Development, and the Placement module.
One of the highlights of the Masters was the Strategy Live module. Strategy Live worked well as it brought together the knowledge gained from other modules and combined it with the ranging level of work experience from students in the class. The module gave students an opportunity work with reputable companies from different industries, on real life problems that they were facing whereby the students had to build a strategic solution. The value in this project was that it was over 3 months whereby the solution got build over time and the groups were thoughtfully put together, consisting of students with different levels of work experience and from different Masters streams. The module also allowed students to improve on the project with lecturer feedback after each class presentation, which helped with building an appropriate solution for the respective company. As the project required students to solve a real problem there was an opportunity for students to explore a diverse range of roles within the project team and also learn about different industries.
I had a background in Information Systems within Finance but ended up learning a lot about the refrigeration industry, logistics and trade policy with regards to Brexit and implications of expanding from the EU into the United Kingdom. The project made me realise that I did not have to limit myself to a specific industry based on what I previously studies and gave me the opportunity to explore a different type of role. The module was a highlight during a difficult time of learning during Covid." Riedwaan Fakier

What is unique about the course is...the Business Research Project. It really gives you a great understanding for the future when you go into the workplace. The programme helps you transfer knowledge into practice. It’s all a lead up towards the Business Research Project so everything you have learned you finally apply to the final thesis of the course which is really important as you learn the skills and knowledge to go forward. It really is a worthwhile course to take. You learn so much in terms of your academic learning as well as your personal development.” Sean Hartnett

‘Undertaking part-time study whilst working full-time was initially daunting for me. The course structure enabled me to balance both my work and my studies. The modules studied provided an in-depth insight into the core elements of strategy and innovation.
