As a pivotal member of the University Executive, our Vice President for Students & Learning, Professor Tim Thompson, plays an active role in shaping and delivering the University’s Strategy 2023 - 2028 amidst a dynamic higher education landscape. This role is dedicated to developing innovative approaches to the student lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on inclusion, diversity, and technology-enhanced learning.
The Office for Students and Learning champions student engagement and co-creation, ensuring that the student voice underpins the strategic direction of educational activities. We also provide strategic guidance through the Centre for Teaching and Learning, driving educational enhancement initiatives grounded in research and best practices. Additionally, we oversee the University's teaching and learning function, supporting staff in teaching, assessment, and student support.
We are the university driver for student employability and success through our Student Skills and Success Team, which includes our Career Development and Placement staff. We work very closely with other teams across the University to support our students, particularly the VP Academic and Registrar, the VP for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion to advance access and widening participation agendas, and the VP for External Affairs.
We are committed to the health and well-being or our students. We lead the development of comprehensive support systems, collaborate closely with the Maynooth Students' Union, and champion a positive student experience. Across these pages you will find more information on what we do, how we can support our students and staff, and how to work with us.
The Office for Students and Learning is dedicated to fostering an inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment for all students at Maynooth University.
