The Maynooth University Student Experience Awards Inaugural Ceremony took place on the first of May 2019. The Dean of Teaching and Learning, Dr Alison Hood officially opened the event which celebrated the wealth of activities Maynooth students have engaged in beyond the classroom during their time here. Seventeen MUSE activity coordinators and verifiers were also commended on their commitment, dedication and passion to student engagement accomplishments across the University.
Ninety Six MU students were recognised as completing 24, 662 hours of verified activities in a wide range of themes including University Community and Campus Life, Social and Cultural, Volunteering and Civic Engagement, Internationalisation, Enterprise and Work Experience and Leadership. The Experiential Learning officer, Dr Aisling Flynn was privileged to learn about this great work, whether it be engagement on the sporting field, the stage, working with peers, volunteering near and far, contributing to the economy, society and more. It was acknowledged that Maynooth University and its student and staff cohorts, its community and employer stakeholders, as well as its Erasmus University partners have benefited massively from the wealth of this student activity.
Dr Alison Hood Commended the MUSE Awardees who “have certainly made their mark and should be extremely proud of the holistic Maynooth University Student experience that they have carved out during their time here, that has equipped them with the necessary knowledge, skills and confidence to be trailblazers in work, life and citizenship ”.
