‘A Poem for Ireland’ winner announced.
The President Michael D. Higgins announced Ireland's best-loved poem of the last 100 years on March 11th at the Royal Irish Academy.
The sonnet ‘When all the others were away at Mass’ [from Clearances in memoriam M.K.H., 1911-1984] 3, by Seamus Heaney was announced as the winner of ‘A Poem for Ireland’.
