Turn to Teaching’s exciting new collaboration with Dunboyne College of Further Education
An exciting development in the work of Turn to Teaching in this academic year has been the new collaboration with staff and students of Dunboyne College of Further Education. Adopting an action research approach, this partnership is focused on supporting the teaching aspirations of a group of students who are studying on the Pre-University Teaching course at Dunboyne College of Further Education.

Congratulations to the Think About Teaching Class of 2022 on their recent graduation
The Conferring ceremony for the Think About Teaching class of 2022 took place in the new Technology, Society and Innovation (TSI) Building on Friday, 18th of November. It was a fantastic night as family, friends, staff and supporters across the Turn to Teaching community came together to share in the tremendous achievements of the students.

Turn to Teaching contribute two chapters to the recently published book on teacher diversity, Diversifying the Teaching Profession: Dimensions, Dilemmas and Directions for the Future, edited by Elaine Keane, Manuela Heinz, and Rory McDaid.

Turn to Teaching’s end of year celebration event: Reconnecting, reflecting, regenerating
The Turn to Teaching community gathered together on May 5th, 2022 to host an end of year celebratory event that created dialogical spaces for students, staff, and school, FE and community partners to celebrate the student achievements to date, consider the impact of the broader work of Turn to Teaching in teacher education, school and community spaces, and to identify opportunities for further growth and development in the work.

Conferring Ceremony for the Think About Teaching Foundation Cert Class of 2022
We are looking forward with anticipation to what is undoubtedly the highlight of the Turn to Teaching year, the conferring ceremony for the Think About Teaching Foundation Cert class of 2022 , which will take place on Friday, November 18th at 6pm in the new Technology, Society and Innovation Building, North Campus, Maynooth. University. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony in Pugin Hall on the South Campus.

Turn to Teaching host symposium at recent Association for Teacher Education in Europe (ATEE) 2022 Spring Conference
Drawing on the emergence of multiple dimensions, and dynamics, of narrative across the life cycle of the work, Turn to Teaching’s Dr Gareth Burns, Dr Jerry O’Neill and Dr Seán Henry hosted a symposium at the recent Association for Teacher Education in Europe (ATEE) 2022 Spring Conference, Marino Institute of Education.

Student group from Dunboyne College of Further Education visit Turn to Teaching
Hosted by Turn to Teaching and Maynooth Access Programme, a group of students from Dunboyne College of Further Education’s Pre-Teaching, Liberal Arts and Journalism courses visited Maynooth University on March 31st.

Think About Teaching School Placement Experience
The current Think About Teaching Foundation Cert students recently engaged in a very successful school placement experience in a number of our partner second level schools. A key dimension to the placement experience was the mentoring provided by the Rising Leaders, the project’s team of teacher-mentors who are committed to the diversification of teaching profession.
