The SAOLTA steering committee, of which the department of Adult and Community Education is an active member, invites you to an online launch of the for the second Mapping of Global Citizenship Education provision in the Adult & Community Education sector in Ireland Report, Wednesday the 30th of March, 11am to 1pm, as part of the Irish Aid funded Saolta programme.
The event is designed for national Global Citizenship Education practitioners and policy makers working in the Adult and Community Education sector in Ireland. We will share key learnings and findings from the mapping exercise to help build an evidence-based community of practice among educators working in the formal, non-formal, as well as informal educational settings.
The strategic goal of Saolta is increased accessibility, quality, and effectiveness of development education within the adult and community education sector (ACE). As part of 'Saolta' evidence-based research reports will be developed, collated, and disseminated to inform global citizenship education policy and practice in the ACE sector in Ireland. This mapping research has been developed for the past year and builds on its first iteration in 2020.
The launch will share with you what we have learned in the mapping research and the importance of understanding good practice in Global Citizenship Education in adult and community education.
