As part of Science Week 2024, The Development and Alumni Relations Office in collaboration with the Faculty of Science and Engineering hosted a hybrid talk entitled “Ozempic – unravelling fact from fiction”. The event explored the complexities of a drug which has become a hot topic in the media leading to many questions, misunderstandings and myths.
During this interactive panel discussion, Dr Andy Hogan, MU alum, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Biology at MU and Principle Investigator with the Obesity Immunology Research Group and Prof Donal O’Shea, Consultant Endocrinologist of the Obesity Immunology Research Group, discussed the science behind Ozempic – how it works and its impact on health.
