Accurate measurements of coastal change have critical implications today due to climate change and rising sea levels. Since the 1970s, the coastline region has been observed using satellites. The appearance of Sentinels in 2014 has enabled measurement of waterlines and land cover information to an unprecedented spatial and temporal resolution, supporting studies on coastal change and assisting with risk management.
