The Department of Geography celebrates the graduation of Dr Bernard Essel and Dr Conchúr Ó Maonaigh

    Today was a day full of smiles for the Department of Geography.  

    Along side the graduation of our Undergraduate Classes of 2024 we celebrated with Dr Bernard Essel and Dr Conchúr Ó Maonaigh and their friends and families as they finished their PhD journey with us. 
     

    Bernard's research and thesis Developing an enhanced photogrammetric methodology for drone mapping over water when constrained by low-cost GNSS/IMUs were supervised by Dr Conor Cahalane.  He has just started a Postdoc with colleagues in DCU.  
     
    Conchúr was supervised by Dr Alistair Fraser for his thesis Driving the Decarbonizing City: The role of electric vehicles (EVs) in Dublin’s sustainability transition.  Conchúr is working with Dr Louise Reilly and the SEAI as a Postdoctoral Researcher here in the Department of Geography.

    We wish all our graduates the very best for the next stage of their lives and hope they remember to keep in touch and let us know how they are using their geography skills in the future!
