The care and commitment of lecturers in ensuring students excel in each module. The lifelong friendships I have developed with other students within my course.
Maynooth University Soccer Club.
The community of lecturers and students within the campus of Maynooth University. The lecturers are very kind and always helpful. Students want to help each other to succeed and reach their full potential in a collaborative and supportive manner. Maynooth itself is a lovely village and the campus grounds make it an incredible place to study.
The ability to plan lessons, communicate effectively and empower my students.
Do not be afraid to ask for help when needed. The lecturers, administrative staff, and students are exceptional.
To date, I have worked in a variety of DEIS and non-DEIS contexts, instructing classes in English, History, Politics and Society, CSPE, and Wellbeing.
I have managed school soccer teams in various regional competitions and competed in a national student journalism initiative.
I am currently teaching English, CSPE, and Wellbeing while also managing my school's soccer team and leading its Accelerated Reading initiative.
It may sound rather clichéd, but no two days are the same. It's an aspect of the job that I absolutely adore. New challenges continually help me to develop and grow as an educational practitioner.

Maynooth University's PME programme offered me a unique advantage as the school placement module was year-long. As such, I had comparatively more experience amassed by the time I had graduated compared to students studying at other Irish universities.
