IQDA is delighted to announce that qualitative data from the Growing Up in Ireland study have been published in the Digital Repository of Ireland. Growing Up in Ireland (GUI) is the national longitudinal study of children and youth in Ireland. The study, which began in 2006, follows two cohorts of children aged 9 years (child cohort) and 9 months (infant cohort). The first waves of data collection included a qualitative study of around 120 families drawn from the main survey sample in each cohort. The qualitative study explored in more depth children’s and parents’ perspectives on issues examined in the survey. The research data has been deposited in DRI thanks to the help of intern Nur Nadiah Binte Zailani, an MSc student in Applied Social Research at Trinity College Dublin. Researchers can request access to the data via the DRI interface. All metadata is openly accessible.
