David Mangan completes term as Visiting Professor at Università degli Studi di Milano

David Mangan completed a term as a Visiting Professor at the Università degli Studi di Milano. There, he taught classes on comparative labour law as well as seminars for PhD students. He is grateful to Professor Maria Teresa Carinci for the invitation. 
 
David researches in the areas of employment/labour law and private law obligations (tort and contract), with a focus on the impact of information technology in these areas. David is a member of the editorial board of the European Labour Law Journal. He is co-editor of the Global Workplace Law & Policy blog. Recent publications include 'Why is freedom of the press adjunct to freedom of expression in Canada?'  and ‘The platform discount: addressing unpaid work as a structural feature of labour platforms’ (co-authored with Karol Muszyński and Valeria Pulignano).
 
At the School of Law & Criminology, David leads the joint degree program with UC Lyon, as well as the Technology Law & Policy Centre. He is a Ph.D. supervisor with Advance CRT which is funded by the Irish Science Foundation. In 2024-2025, David is a Visiting Professor in the Marco Biagi Foundation at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
