Professional Master of Education (Primary Teaching)

The Professional Master of Education (Primary Teaching) is a two-year, full-time, level 9 professional teacher education programme designed to qualify graduates as primary school teachers.

The programme is informed by Froebelian philosophy and principles and offers a blend of university-based learning, grounded in theory and child-centred practice, coupled with immersive school placements to prepare and inspire caring, reflective educators in their pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning.

Student teachers are also supported to develop their research skills through the development of a Dissertation by Portfolio across the two-year programme.

Students taking the TEG B1 exam in May 2025 will be considered in Round 2.

The deadline to register for the TEG B1 exam is 12:00 PM on 23 April 2025Register here.

Applications will be invited from holders of an Honours Bachelor Degree (180 credits) for admission to this full-time two-year course which will commence in September 2025. The minimum entry requirements are outlined in the 'Conditions for Eligibility' section below. 

Persons who successfully complete this programme are eligible to be registered by the Teaching Council under Route 1: Primary and will thereby be eligible for appointment in primary schools.
