The Maynooth University School of Business had the pleasure of a visit recently from students from the Northern Kentucky University in early March 2015. As part of their visit, the students took part in an Integrated Marketing Communications class with our undergraduate Marketing 2nd Year students.

Left to right: Prof. Ronan Reilly (Dean of International & Graduate Studies), faculty members from Northern Kentucky University, Prof. Peter Mc Namara (Head of the School of Business).

Given the international perspective of the group, the lecturer (Geraldine Lavin) took the opportunity to deliver an interactive class on cultural issues in Marketing. Working in mixed groups, the Irish and American students examined the cultural differences and similarities between markets in Ireland and the US.

Students were set a task of developing a campus-wide Integrated Marketing Campaign (IMC) to introduce Killowen Farm's yoghurt as a healthy snack for students. They rose to the challenge and developed a range of interesting ideas for the introduction of the product, including linking in with sports clubs on campus and a healthy eating campaign.
