Disability Access Route to Education (DARE)

Maynooth University has a strong commitment to widening participation. As part of this commitment, Maynooth University provides flexible pathways to the University for students with disabilities and school leavers from disadvantaged backgrounds through the Disability Access Route to Education (DARE) and the Higher Education Access Route (HEAR).  DARE and HEAR provide a quota of reduced points places on all courses at Maynooth University and a wide range of academic supports to students who enter through DARE and HEAR.

The supports are designed to increase the rates of retention, attainment and progression of our students and include a dedicated Advisor, a comprehensive orientation, access to innovative learning support programmes, financial support when available and other supports depending on the individual needs of each student.  These supports are aimed at achieving equity of participation while supporting students to develop as independent learners. For details on how to apply to DARE and HEAR see www.accesscollege.ie
