Examination Accommodations

Some students need support when taking examinations.

If you think you will need examination support you should talk to your Disability Advisor as early as possible. Your Disability Advisor will assess your needs and you will receive a Learning and Academic Needs Report outlining the supports that will be provided in university, including reasonable accommodations for examinations. Some examination supports which may be available to you, depending on your needs, are:

  • Extra time
  • Smaller rooms
  • Use of a computer or assistive technology
  • Rest breaks, including food and/ or medication breaks
  • Special equipment – for example a special keyboard, mouse/ pointing device, or chair
  • A reader to help the student read the paper
  • A scribe to write for the student
