Dr Clíodhna Murphy and Charles O’Sullivan Participate in Seminar on Reception Conditions Directive at Radboud University

Dr Clíodhna Murphy and PhD student Charles O’Sullivan were invited by the Centre for Migration Law, Radboud University (Netherlands), to participate in a seminar on the Reception Conditions Directive on 8 December 2015. The seminar looked at the reception conditions for asylum seekers across the European Union, including Ireland, which is not bound by the Directive. Speakers included Dr Liam Thornton of UCD on the non-applicability of the Directive in Ireland. Participants included researchers, civil servants, practicing lawyers and NGO’s from different Member States with personal experience or interest in the Reception Conditions Directive.
 
Dr Murphy also delivered a research presentation to UCD School of Law on 18 November 2015 on 'Testing the Limits of State Power: Human Rights or the Rule of Law as a Deciding Factor in Immigration Cases?'.

Dr Clíodhna Murphy is a Lecturer in Law at Maynooth University Department of Law where she lectures in Globalisation, Migration and the Law on the LLM (International Justice) masters degree programme.
